K-pop supergroup BTS won three awards at the 2020 Soribada Best K-Music Awards on Thursday.

The group won the Daesang (grand prize), Bonsang (main prize) and the Favorite Male Bias awards, as reported by Soompi. 

“We’ve received such a meaningful award from the 2020 Soribada Best K-Music Awards,” said leader RM in a video message. “Thank you for giving us such a valuable prize.”

The group also thanked its fans and staff who worked behind the scenes for the band.

“To our ARMY who always loves and supports us, thank you and we love you!” said oldest member Jin. “It’s because of you that we’re able to receive this award, which is such an honor.”

“To the unseen people who are always working hard so that we can shine, Bang Si Hyuk and the Big Hit Staff, we express our thanks,” said rapper Suga mentioning their agency and its leader.

The band apologized for not being able to attend the awards show, with Jimin saying “we want to say thank you to the artists who are making the show shine and all the fans watching too.”

BTS released its latest album, Map of the Soul: 7, in February with more than 4 million pre-orders, and will be releasing a new single “Dynamite” on Aug. 21.

The Soribada Best K-Music Awards started in 2017, with an aim to award music that was released between September the year before until August of the following year. Launched in 2000, Soribada is the first Korean peer-to-peer file-sharing service.

Popular girl group TWICE also grabbed 3 awards in the event, namely Artist of the Year, Bonsang and Favorite Female Bias. (car/wng)
