he National Library of Indonesia at Jl. Medan Merdeka Selatan No. 11 in Central Jakarta is temporarily closed following confirmed COVID-19 cases.
According to a statement, four library employees have tested positive for COVID-19 and are currently under self-quarantine.
The building has been sterilized and sprayed with disinfectant, and all other employees have been told to work from home.
“In accordance with COVID-19 health protocols, all employees are required to undergo polymerase chain reaction [PCR] testing,” National Library of Indonesia head of human resources and general bureau Ahmad Masykuri said in a statement.
The library is slated to reopen to the public on Sept. 14.
The National Library of Indonesia previously suspended operations on March 16. It reopened to the public in June with strict health protocols, including body temperature checks for all visitors, providing hand sanitizer in several areas and regular spraying disinfectant throughout the building.
