Most parts of Semarang inundated, airport closed

Water levels reached between 50 centimeters and 1.5 meters, paralyzing road and rail networks. The Ahmad Yani airport was likewise forced to close as its runway was submerged. The heavy rains caused a landslide in the Bukit Talang area of Bedanduwur, Gajah Mungkur district, killing Heri, a local resident.
