AMBI, Jambi province: After mauling two illegal loggers - Ali and Deri - on Friday night, wild tigers in the Paal 7 production forest in Sungai Gelam district, Muarojambi regency, attacked another logger Sunday night.

As of Monday, the victim, identified as Khoiri, remains missing, suspected to have been dragged off by the tigers into the Paal 10 forest. Local residents are still searching for the victim.

Three of Khoiri's friends who witnessed the tiger attack were found hiding up a tree for fear of fresh attacks by the animals. They were all illegal loggers from Lampung. Didy Wurjanto, head of the Jambi Nature Conservation Agency, said he did not know whether this latest attack was by the same tigers that mauled Ali and Deri last week.

"We are still checking it on the field," he said Monday.
