amibian Foreign Minister Marco Hausiku visited Jakarta on Monday to meet with his counterpart Hassan Wirajuda to establish a joint commission to handle various bilateral issues.

Sudirman Haseng, the Foreign Ministry's director for African affairs, said the joint commission would work to identify potential areas of cooperation.

Hausiku led a delegation of 24 persons, including businessmen, in a two-day visit to Jakarta.

"The biggest potentials lie in agriculture, education, and culture areas. The University of Namibia would like to build their own school of medicine and they want to cooperate with us for that,"he said.

He added that Indonesia and Namibia were planning to exchange agriculture experts and university students.

"We already have a task force between our Chamber of Commerce and we have also cooperated in the energy sector," he said.

Namibia is planning to open an embassy in Indonesia, according to Sudirman. Indonesia opened its embassy in Namibia in 1991.
