JAKARTA: Singer Sherina Munaf claims getting a boyfriend is not a priority for her right now, but she nevertheless has ideas about her dream man.

“I wish he could be as handsome as Bruce Lee but with a voice like Michael Jackson,” said the singer, who last week launched her latest album Gemini.

At the launch, the 19-year-old showed the Michael Jackson clip to “Childhood” as a tribute to her idol.

“He is one of the very special people who have passed away. I admire him and I believe his songs and works will be remembered forever,” Sherina said, as quoted by detik.com.

Sherina, who released her debut album Andai Aku Besar Nanti (When I Grow Up) in 1999 when she was just 9 years old, said that with her new album, her musical expression has become more independent.

Saying she was testing the water with her previous album Primadona, as she had shot to fame as a child performer, Sherina said she pushed her talents to the limit with the new album by writing and arranging most of the songs herself.

The album has nine new songs including the hit “Simphoni Hitam” (Black Symphony).

Sherina was also helped by her father Triawan Munaf, who penned the hit song “Gregetan” (Getting Angry).

At the launch, Sherina also sang “Cinta Pertama dan Terakhir” (First and Last Love), which she said was the first love song she wrote. — JP
