JAKARTA: Following the increasing number of H1N1 flu cases in the country, the city health agency called for residents have confidence in the treatment and facilities provided by city's referral hospitals to handle the patients suspected to have contracted the H1N1 virus. .

"The hospitals have all necessary facilities to treat the patients, including isolation rooms with specially-designed air circulation," Tini Suryanti, the agency's spokeswoman, told The Jakarta Post Tuesday.

"So, there is no reason for H1N1 patients and their families to worry if they are transferred."

The current procedures of H1N1 flu treatment stipulated a hospital to immediately send a H1N1 flu suspect to city's referral hospitals in the Sulianti Saroso Hospital in North Jakarta or the Gatot Subroto Army Hospital in Central Jakarta.

As of Sunday, 64 people nationwide are positively infected with the H1N1 flu virus. Most have just returned from abroad. - JP
