our comments on Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati’s resignation from her current post to take up a new position as a managing director of the World Bank amid political pressure against her from opposition parties.
God created Sri Mulyani as the Savior of Indonesian economy. She is the “Beauty” among the “Beasts”.
Even the Prophet Muhammad and Jesus Christ were scorned
and stoned by the self-centered
heathens.

Sri Mulyani is a really good professional woman and has done her best everywhere she has taken action, mainly as Indonesia’s finance minister. It is a pity that her best contribution to her country was complicated by unnecessary actions of the Indonesian parliament.
Although Indonesia will loose its best minister, the fact that she finally decided to resign from her post and take up her new position as a managing director at the World Bank should be understood and be congratulated.
Good job, Mam! I really love you and I think I will miss you for long time!

Sri Mulyati Indrawati has given the best of her abilities to strengthen our national effort to establish a clean, just and prosperous country. Politicians in the House of Representatives, however, put several months of political pressure on her to remove her from her post as finance minister, blaming her for the decision to bail out Bank Century.
This situation has hampered her in the execution of her duties. Under these circumstances, Sri Mulyani was fully justified to resign as finance minister and to accept the prestigious position as a managing director of the World Bank. In this position her professional qualities shall be more appreciated by a qualified international community.
I wish her good luck and success in her new assignment.

I think Ibu Sri Mulyani’s resignation is an Indonesian tragedy. It is a great loss to this nation, but a victory for a bunch of corrupt and incompetent politicians.
A reform icon who has managed to lead our economy out of the global crisis was finally ousted for the sake of maintaining “political stability”.
However, her appointment as a World Bank managing director serves as real proof that she has world-class capacity.
All we can do is to thank her for her great dedication and achievement.

Sri Mulyani’s acceptance of a prestigious job at the World Bank was not negotiable and was endorsed by President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) a week ago and she showed the letter from the President, who had asked her to serve the World Bank.
Some observers, political analysts, etc have expressed their various opinions on Mulyani’s departure, such as the endless political bickering stemming from vested interests and a possible compromise between Yudhoyono and Golkar chairman Aburizal Bakrie, SBY hoping to ensure political stability, and her stiff reform program rooting out graft at the tax and custom’s offices.
I do not agree with opinions of the above political analysts on Sri Mulayani’s exit.
I believe the appointment as managing director of the World Bank was based on the World Bank’s
observation of her reputation as Indonesia’s minister of finance and her participation in global events such as the G20 summit, the ASEAN forums, etc.
