AKASSAR: The police’s bomb squad unit confiscated an unattended black bag resembling a laptop bag after it was reported by residents on Jl. Andi Mappanyukki in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on Monday.

Based on information gathered at the scene, the bag was found by a 10-year-old boy named Suardi as he was crossing the road.

The fourth-grader told his aunt, Nursiah Daeng Basse, about the bag, and she then reported the matter to security guards at a Bank Syariah Mandiri office on Jl. Sam Ratulangi, Makassar, located around 100 meters away from where the bag was found.

Mariso City Police chief detective First Insp. Piter Siang said they would examine the contents of the bag.

“We don’t know what the contents are yet,” he said. — JP
