AKARTA: The committee for the national university entrance test (SNMPTN), which consists of 60 state universities, said that 540,928 students would take the test on May 31 and June 1.
Herry Suhardiyanto, chairman of SNMPTN and rector of the Bogor Institute of Agriculture, said 179,340 of the students would take the natural science test, 196,469 the social science test and 165,119 a social-natural sciences test.
The state universities have allocated 110,149 seats for this academic year.
Hasanuddin University (Unhas) and Makassar State University (UNM), two of the state universities in Makassar, South Sulawesi, would have 34,800 students taking the test on Tuesday, with 21,645 students applying for Unhas and 13,206 for UNM. This year, Unhas can only accept 3,250 students, while UNM only some 4,000 students. The test results will be announced on June 30. — JP
