live in Sunter, North Jakarta, and these days there is a huge pipeline construction project near my house.
The project has contaminated the water supply, which is now very dirty.
I had to empty my water tank, during which time the meter was on, and then refill it, while the meter was still on. This means I will pay higher fees, even though I did not use the water.
The question is, will the city water operator give us a discount fee?
In the countries such as Fiji, New Zealand and South Africa, people drink water right from the tap.
It would be good is a similar system were implemented here. But considering this current situation, it is just a dream that people here could drink water directly from the tap.
Isn’t it their duty to provide us clean water? And if so, they have failed to do their job.
Then why should we pay them? Why should we be sacrificed for the city water operator of PAM Jaya? Will PAM Jaya compensate us for the problem?
This is a very small issue. But remember that a small hole can sink the ship.
It is not the first time that the water we have received has been so dirty. It has happened many times.
I want to know if there are any procedures to sue public organizations who provide improper services.
We have to establish a forum that could look after our interests that are affected by improper public service.
