he Central Java General Elections Commission (KPU) has officially named Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) politician Ganjar Pranowo as the winner of the region's gubernatorial race along with Heru Sudjatmoko as his deputy.
Tempo.co reported that based on the KPU's manual count, the pair won 6,962,417 votes, or 48.82 percent of the total tally.
Ganjar said that he was happy with the results and the fact that the number of vote abstainers had declined from the previous election.
Ganjar and Heru will be officially inaugurated on Aug. 23.
