tudentPuji Syukran has claimed that he was beaten up by Indonesian consulategeneral staffer Raden Gutamsi during a soccer game held toobserve Indonesia Independence Day inHamburg, Germany

Puji was allegedly beaten by Raden and his colleagues for no clear reason until he was rescued by spectators. According to witnesses, Raden also threatened Puji while he was receiving medical treatment.

Head of the Indonesian Student Organization'€™s Hamburg chapter Ahmad Rizqi Meydiarso condemned the violence, saying that there was no justification for such an act and requested the consulate general allow German authorities to investigate the case.   

Commenting on the incident, the consulate general posted a statement on its website saying that it regretted the incident and asked all involved parties to resist provoking the situation further.(dic)
