minister says that businesspeople are still reluctant to raise their employees' salaries, despite the recent hike in subsidized-oil prices.
"I have met with businesspeople. According to them, last year's salary increase was quite significant. Several firms have raised their [employee] salaries by 40 percent,' said Industry Minister MS Hidayat on Monday, as quoted by Kontan.co.id.
'There will be a pay increase next year of around 10 percent,' he added.
Hidayat said that following the fuel-price hike, public transportation fares would increase by 15 percent.
