Guitarist Piyu caught up in car rage saga

T

he lead guitarist and songwriter of pop band Padi, Satriyo '€œPiyu'€ Yudi Wahono, has been caught up in the complex saga involving his wife Anastasia Florina '€œFlo'€ Limasnax; businessman and convicted murderer Adiguna Sutowo; Adiguna'€™s second wife, Vika Dewayani Widyapurna; and a Mercedes car belonging to Adiguna'€™s first wife.

He was summoned by the Jakarta Police as a witness and had to reply to 19 questions, mostly about his wife'€™s whereabouts. Piyu said to the police that he himself was unaware of his wife'€™s whereabouts and he did not know what was going on.

Flo, who has three children with Piyu, was reported to the police by Vika, who accused Flo of damaging her house in Pulomas, East Jakarta and three cars in her garage. Vika has claimed that in the early hours of Saturday, Oct. 26 a Mercedes driven by Flo repeatedly crashed into her house. After the report, the police asked the immigration office to issue a travel ban on Flo, at the time identified by the police only as '€œF'€.

On Monday, Adiguna and Piyu held a press conference. Adiguna said he was the one behind the wheel of the silver Mercedes and he caused the damage because he was jealous. He claimed he went to Vika'€™s house only to find that she was out with another man. '€œI was the one who crashed into the house. It was my property! It'€™s up to me if I want to crash into it or burn it!'€ Adiguna shouted angrily at reporters. At the same press briefing, Piyu denied that F was his wife Flo. But later, witness accounts confirmed that it was indeed Flo who was accused of having driven the car.

It is rumored that Flo was once Adiguna'€™s girlfriend but is now his business partner.

The saga has been the talk of the town partly because of the high profile of the people involved and partly due to the inconsistent explanations provided by the people involved, such as Piyu and Adiguna. Avid followers of the running news story have been guessing about what really happened to Adiguna, Flo and Vika and whether Piyu is as clueless a bystander as he appears.

Some light was shed on Friday, when Jakarta Police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto informed journalists about the testimony of a key witness in the case, Daryono, Adiguna'€™s driver.

'€œWhen the incident happened, the witness [Daryono] said Adiguna was in the back seat,'€ Rikwanto said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Daryono informed the police that in the evening of Friday, Oct. 25 he drove his employer from his house in Menteng, Central Jakarta, where Adiguna lives with his first wife, Indriyani, the mother of Indraguna Sutowo, who was married to actress Dian Sastrowardoyo. He drove Adiguna to the Four Seasons Hotel, which belongs to Adiguna'€™s business group, and later to the Bengkel Café in the Sudirman Business District Center. In the early hours of Saturday, Daryono picked up Adiguna and Flo '€” both of whom were drunk '€” from the café and drove them to Vika'€™s house as instructed.

Upon arriving at Vika'€™s house, Flo asked Daryono to let her take the wheel and she proceeded to crash into the gates, damaging the gates and the three cars inside.

Rikwanto said the police had yet to establish a motive for the attack because prior to the incident, Flo and Adiguna spoke in English, a language Daryono did not understand.

Adiguna was sentenced to seven years in prison in 2005 after he was found guilty of shooting a bar employee at the Sultan Hotel (formerly the Hilton) in the head. According to the police at the time, Adiguna'€™s friend, Tinul, had her credit card rejected by the bank so the victim, Yohanes '€œRudy'€ Brahman Haerudi Natong, suggested that she pay in cash. Offended, Tinul sought Adiguna'€™s help. Adiguna, whose late father Ibnu Sutowo '€” often dubbed by the media the King of Oil '€” had shares in the hotel, was also offended and in his rage killed Rudy.

Adiguna'€™s businesses include a stake in the MRA Group, which has about 35 companies including a media arm that publishes Cosmopolitan and FHM; Ferrari, Maserati and Harley Davidson dealerships and ownership of the Hard Rock Café franchise in Indonesia.
