The construction of 14-kilometer long elevated toll road connecting Plumpang and Cilincing in North Jakarta is expected to be completed in 2015, an official says.
The toll road will provide access to Tanjung Priok Port in North Jakarta.
During a site inspection on Wednesday, Governor Joko 'Jokowi' Widodo said that the completion of the project, which was being managed by the Public Works Ministry, would depend on the completion of land acquisition by the city administration.
'There are 45 houses that need to be acquired; 34 are in Jampea and 11 houses are in Kalibaru [North Jakarta],' Jokowi told reporters in North Jakarta.
North Jakarta Mayor Heru Budi Susanto said that negotiations with families affected by the project were ongoing.
'Jampea residents demanded Rp 35 million [US$3,045] per square meter, but we decided on Rp 12.5 million in accordance to market price. Meanwhile, Kalibaru residents demanded Rp 10 million per square meter, but we set the price at Rp 1.9 million per square meter,' he said.
