JAKARTA: Actor Reza Rahadian will soon release his new movie, titled Ketika Tuhan Jatuh Cinta (When God Falls in Love), where he will play Fikri, a sand painter.
To prepare for the role, Reza learned directly from the real Fikri about his craft.
'I want to convince the viewers, so I tried to do sand painting myself. Every work in the movie is made by me,' he said as quoted by kompas.com.
Named best actor by Film Festival Indonesia in 2013, Reza said he actually liked painting but it was his first time trying sand painting.
'I did the painting spontaneously, turning messy sand into something beautiful on camera,' he said.
The movie will also star Dewi Irawan and Joshua Pandelaki.
