J

uvenile delinquency violates the norm, rules or laws in a society and is done by teenagers or children during the transition to adulthood. Today, juvenile delinquency in Indonesia is extremely worrisome. The teenagers not only cut class and get into fights but also commit serious crimes such as drug abuse and murder.

Various factors contribute to juvenile delinquency.

The family can drive juvenile delinquency. British and American investigators reveal that nearly 30 percent of delinquents come from broken homes. The breakup of parents affects children'€™s psychology and behavior, especially in their early age, due to lack of attention.

The community also contributes to rampant juvenile delinquency. It'€™s commonly known that jobless young people do bad things in their neighborhoods, schools, etc. They do not abide by regulations, violate traffic laws and also destroy public property such as roads, bridges and walls.

Regrettably, many of these young people do not realize that their activities could harm both themselves and the people around them. Meanwhile, people tend to go away from them because they don'€™t want to be affected by the criminal acts. This causes teens to be shunned from the neighborhood.

The conclusion is that the most important thing to prevent juvenile delinquency is the family. The community also contributes to this unfortunate situation.
