ndonesian shuttlers brought home two titles from the Chinese Taipei Open Grand Prix Gold 2014 on Sunday.

Greysia Polii and Nitya Krishinda Maheswari presented the first women's doubles title of the year for Indonesia, while the second title was brought home by young men's doubles pair Hendra Aprida Gunawan and Andrei Adistia.

Greysia and Nitya snatched the women's doubles title after defeating China's Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang 21-18, 21-11 to level their head-to-head meetings 2-2.

'Thank God. We're glad to become champions. This will certainly boost our confidence for the upcoming World Championships and Asian Games 2014,' Greysia said in a statement.

Nitya said that the win was due to their consistency during the match. 'We kept pushing them to follow our rhythm. Besides, we are confident that we can defeat them again,' she said.

The Indonesian duo outplayed the Chinese pair 21-17, 14-21, 23-21 in their last meeting at the French Open Super Series 2013. Meanwhile, Wang Xiaoli and Yu Yang defeated Greysia and Nitya at the 2013 China Masters and the 2013 Sudirman Cup.

In the men's doubles event, Hendra and Andrei overcame another Chinese pair, Li Junhui and Liu Yuchen, in a rubber match of 21-14, 16-21, 21-16.

'Congratulations to Greysia and Nita, and Hendra and Andrei for their achievements. Hopefully others [shuttlers] can follow suit,' Indonesian Badminton Association (PBSI) chairman Gita Wirjawan said in a press release.

'This [win] is new progress from the women's doubles event and I hope the title will boost the confidence of Greysia and Nitya for future tournaments,' he added.

According to coach Eng Hian, Greysia and Nitya were able to overcome the fear they usually experience when facing China's players. 'Thanks to that, they were able to use their skills and strategy,' he said.

Unfortunately, Alfian Eko Prasetya and Annisa Saufika, who competed in the mixed doubles event, bowed out to China's Liu Yuchen and Yu Xiaohan 12-21, 14-21.

In the women's singles, Sung Ji-hyun of South Korea grabbed the only title for her country after defeating China's Liu Xin 21-13, 21-18, while Lin Dan overcame his compatriot Wang Zhengming 21-19, 21-14 in the men's singles.
