ndonesia's top mixed-doubles badminton player, Tontowi Ahmad, married on Saturday his long-time girlfriend, Michelle Harminc, in Pondok Kelapa, East Jakarta.

The 27-year-old shuttler, who won the 2013 World Championships mixed-doubles title with Liliyana Natsir, recently withdrew from the 2014 World Championships due to a leg injury sustained during the 2014 Australian Open in June.

'I'm a bit worried about becoming a husband because it certainly brings greater responsibility,' Tontowi said in a statement.

'I just hope that my wife and I can develop a harmonious and religious family, and I hope the marriage will boost my motivation to gain more achievements,' said the three-time All England champion.

He added that having withdrawn from the World Championships, which will take place on Aug. 25-31 in Copenhagen, Denmark, he would focus on getting fit to compete at the 17th Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea, slated for Sept. 19 through Oct. 4.

'We haven't planned our honeymoon yet because I need to prepare for the Asian Games,' he said.
