ad weather has resulted in cancellation of boat trips to Nusa Penida Islet from Kusamba in Klungkung regency. Since a week ago, bad weather and high waves have hit the Badung Strait.
'Many trips to Nusa Penida and other islets have had to be canceled due to strong winds and high waves,' the head of the traditional Sampalan fishing port in Klungkung, Dewa Gede Suradnyana, said on Tuesday.
Fishermen also failed to go out to sea because of the bad weather.
Meanwhile, Dewa Gede Sutarta, head of Klungkung Transportation, Information and Communication Agency, called on people to use larger vessels when crossing the Badung Strait this week to prevent sea accidents.
'There are large vessels operating from Nusa Penida in Klungkung heading to Padangbai Port in Karangasem. They operate twice a day. Residents and visitors are encouraged to take these large vessels for safety reasons,' he said.
