hree boats caught fire at Muara Angke Pier in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, on Saturday evening, but no fatalities were reported in the incident.
'We think the fire started at around 7:20 p.m. and was caused by a short circuit in the engine of one of the boats,' head of operational affairs at the North Jakarta Fire and Natural Disaster Agency, Muchtar Zakaria, said on Saturday.
He said the agency's officers pulled the boat 3 kilometers from the pier to prevent the fire from spreading to other boats.
'We are still verifying the owners of the boats and investigating the incident,' Muchtar said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
