he authorized distributor of Mitsubishi passenger cars and commercial vehicles opened a 24/7, year-round truck center on Tuesday , in cooperation with a local partner in Bandung.
The truck center is operated by PT Suryaputra Sarana, a dealership of PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), which handles products from Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) and Mitsubishi Fuso Trucks & Bus Corporation (MFTBC) in Indonesia.
KTB executive marketing director Rizwan Alamsjah said that the truck center was the fourth after similar facilities in Jakarta, Medan and Semarang.
"The truck center is an after sales service facility for commercial vehicles allowing businesses to get effective car maintenance," he said at the opening ceremony of the Truck Center & Parts Depot.
"The facility allows commercial vehicles owners to have their vehicles serviced and maintained in the evenings or during holidays."
Also attending the ceremony were KTB president director Noboru Tsuji, operating marketing director Daisuke Okamoto and Suryaputra president commissioner Teten Herawati.
Meanwhile, Teten said her company was ready to serve customers who could not come to the truck center.
"We have 24 dealers all over West Java, of which 16 are equipped with a mobile workshop," she said.
KTB also introduced its latest model, the New Fuso FJ2523 medium duty truck, which is expected to boost sales of Mitsubishi's commercial vehicles in Indonesia's most populated province.
The group head of field marketing MFTBC at KTB, Marganda Tobing, said that the new product could help increase Mitsubishi's market share in the medium duty truck segment.
He said that the total sales of Fuso trucks had continued to increase since 2011, which saw 53 units sold. That figure increased to 87 vehicles in 2012 and 105 vehicles in 2013.
Despite a slowdown in the mining and commodities sectors, Marganda was upbeat that the sales of the new truck could reach a target of 100 vehicles per year.
"There are a number of infrastructure projects. We expect the new government to step up infrastructure projects, which will support the sales of this new product," he said. (nvn)
