he Jakarta administration is set to loan a pair of orangutans from South Jakarta's Ragunan Zoo to its sister city, Pyongyang, North Korea.
Governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama said during a recent meeting that Pyongyang had asked the city administration to borrow a pair of Orangutans to breed in their local zoo.
"Delegates from North Korea asked me for orangutans. We will loan them a pair. Once the orangutans give birth and their babies are old enough to survive by themselves, Pyongyang will return the orangutans to us, and breed the babies themselves," he said. (++++)
