unanon Sukkaew outsprinted Vietnam's Quach Cong Lich on the back straight to win a thrilling 400m SEA Games gold medal for Thailand on Friday.
The 20-year-old caught and passed Quach in the last 50 metres to set a Games record of 46.00sec, just two-hundredths faster than the Vietnamese.
Kunanon was part of the team that clinched gold in the 4x400m relay on Thursday as Thailand set the pace in the athletics events, which finish on Friday.
