hree districts in Bogor regency have pleaded with the regency administration for an emergency supply of clean water following low precipitation in the area over the last two weeks.
Bogor Regency Disaster Mitigation Agency (BPBD) emergency and logistics section head Budi Aksomo said on Thursday that the three districts were Gunung Putri, Babakan madang and Cibinong, all of which are prone to drought.
'For the meantime, we have deployed six water wagons, each with a daily capacity of 5,000 liters,' he said as quoted by tempo.co, adding that his office was working with institutions such as the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) and regency-owned water company PDAM Tirta Kahuripan.
Budi noted that several districts in the western, northern and southern parts of Bogor were also prone to drought, but had yet to ask for water.
Meanwhile, the head of the Climate Station in Darmaga, West Bogor, Dedy Sucahyono, said that no rain clouds had been detected by his office's satellite imagery.
'As such, we appeal to residents to use clean water wisely and anticipate the possibility of fires,' he said.
