e would like to highlight a grave factual inaccuracy that appeared in your article 'Govt revokes, suspends licenses of forest burners' dated Sept. 23, 2015, page 4. Your article stated: 'According to the Center for International Forestry Research (CIFOR) database, HSL is a subsidiary of Raja Garuda Emas, previously known as Raja Garuda Mas, a business group controlled by one of the country's richest businessmen, Sukanto Tanoto. Sukanto also owns RAPP.'
You asserted that PT Raja Garuda Mas and PT RGE Indonesia are one and the same legal entity holding the same assets and affiliations. This is absolutely erroneous and factually inaccurate.
We hereby state categorically that HSL is not a subsidiary of PT RGE Indonesia, or any of its business groups, including APRIL or RAPP. We are disappointed that you made no attempt to contact us to confirm the report. Your erroneous reporting has caused us reputational damage.
