Chinese state media say the death toll from a powerful typhoon in southern China has reached 20 people.
The official Xinhua News Agency said Wednesday that the southern region of Guangxi has reported an additional two deaths, in addition to the 18 deaths reported earlier from the neighboring province of Guangdong.
The typhoon lashed southern China when it made landfall on Sunday. The agency says the typhoon affected about 5.5 million people in southern China. (k)(++++)
