Guess what?: Cecep to star in American drama series

JP/Wendra

After appearing in blockbuster Star Wars: The Force Awakens, pencak silat master Cecep Arif Rahman is set to feature in an American television series by Kellie Madison, entitled The Gate.

Tribunnews.com reported recently that Cecep was originally to be accompanied in the series by his friends Yayan Ruhian and Iko Uwais, but visa and scheduling issues hampered the latter two'€™s involvement in the project.

The shooting began in November, and Cecep stayed in Los Angeles for three days.

The 43-year-old actor will play Rafael, an Indonesian criminal and enemy of Cassie Weston, played by Amy Johnston.

Apart from the series, Cecep has parts lined up in a number of other projects, including science-fiction action movie Foxtrot Six produced by Hollywood producer Mario Kassar, who was behind blockbusters Rambo and Terminator 2: Judgement Day.
