n the major Cabinet shake-up scheduled to be announced Wednesday, President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo is slated to replace Coordinating Political, Legal and Security Affairs Minister Luhut Pandjaitan, Finance Minister Bambang Brodjonegoro and Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Sudirman Said.

Special staff members to the three ministers, who demanded anonymity, confirmed the replacements to The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.

The sources said Luhut will serve as coordinating maritime minister, replacing Rizal Ramli while Bambang will take on the top job at the national development planning ministry (Bappenas), which will be granted new authority to allocate and supervise the channeling of the state budget.

Minister Sudirman, meanwhile, will no longer be in the Cabinet after a string of tussles last year with Luhut, Rizal, and then Golkar Party senior politician Setya Novanto, now Golkar chairman, the sources said.

Speculation is rife that either Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution or World Bank managing director Sri Mulyani, who served as finance minister during the administration of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, will serve as finance minister.
