ewly appointed Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi has said that he will focus on improving connectivity and transportation services.
Budi, who replaces Ignasius Jonan, previously served as state airport operator PT Angkasa Pura II (AP II) president director.
"Basically there are two things that I will focus on. Developing secure and safe connectivity, and improving public services," Budi said at the State Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He further said that he would coordinate with the former transportation minister and State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Rini Soemarno to solve high-speed railway project issues.
Furthermore, Budi said Soekarno-Hatta International Airport's newest terminal, Terminal 3 (T3) was slated to officially operate on Aug. 9, following the completion of its evaluation.
The new terminal will cater to domestic and international flights of national flag carrier Garuda Indonesia, serving three routes to Yogyakarta, Surakarta and Semarang. (ags)
