“If there are no more problems, the reclamation can be continued,” said Ahok in Jakarta on Friday as reported by tribunnews.com.

He said he had not received a written document allowing the project’s continuation, which is being developed by PT Mutiara Wisesa Samudra, a subsidiary of PT Agung Podomoro Land.

Ahok said he had met Luhut at the latter’s office, but the meeting did not specifically discuss the reclamation issue, but he added Luhut wanted to convey President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo’s order to Ahok to visit China in October.

The reclamation process was stopped by Luhut’s predecessor, Rizal Ramli in July after a joint team from the Forestry and Environment Ministry, Maritime Affairs and Fishery Ministry, Office of the Coordinating Maritime Affairs Minister and Jakarta administration, found various problems in its implementation.

Luhut said previously he had received an initial report from his subordinate related to the reclamation, but he needed more detailed reports from his deputy for infrastructure coordination affairs, Ridwan Djamaluddin, before making the decision. “I see there is no more problems. Everything is manageable,” said Luhut in Jakarta on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Ridwan said he had recorded a number of problems and demanded related agencies find a solution by next week. But he declined to comment on the possible solutions to address the problems. (bbn)
