ormer president Megawati Soekarnoputri refused on Friday to comment on the arrest of her sister Rachmawati Soekarnoputri for alleged treason.
Attending a batik exhibition at the Smesco Building in the Pancoran area, South Jakarta, Megawati, who is also chairwoman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P), would not reply when kompas.com asked about the arrest of her sister.
Megawati had earlier lunched with President Joko "Jokowi" Widodo at the State Palace, discussing the current economic and political situations.

Rachmawati, who often takes different political stands than Megawati, was arrested on Friday morning.
The daughter of the country’s first president, along with nine other activists including politician Sri Bintang Pamungkas, artist Ratna Sarumpaet and musician Ahmad Dhani, were questioned at the National Police Mobile Brigade (Brimob) headquarters in Kelapa Dua, Depok, West Java.
Lawyer Yusril Ihza Mahendra confirmed the interrogation took place, saying that he would accompany Rachmawati as her lawyer. (jun)
