he Jakarta administration has prepared a 2.5 hectare plot of land in Ciangir, Tangerang regency for bird’s eye chili farming to help control the prices, following the recent price increase of the commodity, an official has said.
“The land is being prepared. The planting will be carried out in early February,” said Diah Meidiante, head of the agricultural section at the Jakarta Maritime, Agriculture and Food Sovereignty Agency in Jakarta on Tuesday.
The agency has trained a number of farmers to properly care for the chili farm, Diah said, adding that the training had gone smoothly because the farmers had experience in chili farming.
