akarta gubernatorial candidate Anies Baswedan accompanied his running mate, Sandiaga Uno, to submit the latter’s updated wealth report to the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Tuesday.
“Both of us came to the KPK to submit Pak Sandiaga’s latest wealth report,” Anies told journalists at the antigraft body’s headquarters on Jl. HR Rasuna Said in South Jakarta.
Sandiaga said his wealth report included changes in values of his investment and the disbursement of his personal funds for his campaign activities, which he said amounted to Rp 60 billion (US$4.51 million). He refused to give more details.
“For the total amount of [the wealth], let the KPK and the Jakarta Regional Elections Commission [KPU] inform the public about the details,” said Sandiaga.
Anies and Sandiaga are competing against incumbent candidate pair Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama and Djarot Saiful Hidayat in the runoff of the Jakarta gubernatorial election on April 19.
In the first round of the election, Ahok and Djarot won 42.96 percent of the votes while Anies and Sandi followed with 39.97 percent, according to the official count by the KPU Jakarta. (mrc/ebf)
