he Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) has chosen Indonesia as the first country to host the three-day Taiwan Expo 2017, which will showcase the latest made in Taiwan products.

The expo will be held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) in Senayan, Jakarta, from Friday to Sunday.

The event, the first ever organized outside Taiwan, gathers around 140 exhibitors, TAITRA's executive director,Chiu Hui Li, told journalists in Jakarta on Wednesday.

“We select the best quality products from thousands of products produced in Taiwan to be introduced to Indonesian society,” Chiu said at a media gathering.

The products are displayed in seven pavilions: Taiwan excellent, Green products, Taiwan Health care, Taiwan Tourism, Design Power, Taiwan Agriculture and Education and Career.

Along with the exhibition, the organizers will also organize seminars about the latest development of Taiwanese ICT products, medical development and design powers, Chiu said.

Chui said a similar event would also be held in Malaysia, the Philippines and Vietnam.  (yon/bbn)
