arbed wire has been installed in front of the National Police's Mobile Brigade Command (Brimob) detention center in Depok, West Java, where non-active Jakarta governor Basuki "Ahok" Tjahaja Purnama is being detained.
The wire was installed on Thursday evening after Ahok supporters staged a protest at the location.
"The installment aims to prevent supporters from staging protests. This is based on standard operating procedures [SOPs]," Depok Police deputy chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Faizal Ramadhani said as quoted by tribunnews.com.
On Friday, several armed Brimob officers secured the location.
Ahok was detained at the Brimob detention center on Wednesday.
Hundreds of his supporters continue to flock to the center, making speeches and holding candlelit vigils. (wnd)
