Government to announce new reform package

The government is set to announce on Thursday its 15th economic reform package, which is largely focused on addressing the country’s high logistics costs

he government is set to announce on Thursday its 15th economic reform package, which is largely focused on addressing the country’s high logistics costs.

“The policies will address problems in logistics. We will introduce more efficient policies in logistics, both in bonded zones and other places,” said Cabinet Secretary Parmono Anung as reported by kontan.com, adding that the new package would be announced at the State Palace in Jakarta.

Coordinating Economic Minister Darmin Nasution and Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi will announce the package, Pramono added.

Pamono declined to provide details on the package, saying only that he believed it would help in the smooth distribution of goods.

Previously, Maritime Coordinating Minister Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said that while dwelling times in Indonesia’s major ports have reduced, logistics costs remained high. (bbn)
