T

he Jakarta administration is collaborating with the Central Bank to provide books related to finance and banking to libraries in a bid to boost collections and the reading interest of Jakartans, an official has said.

Acting Jakarta Library and National Archives Agency head Hendy Setiawan said libraries in Jakarta would receive 250 books from Bank Indonesia (BI).

There will be a Bank Indonesia Corner in seven libraries in the city; five libraries in each region and in two other provincial libraries in Taman Ismail Marzuki in Central Jakarta and Nyi Ageng Serang library in Kuningan, South Jakarta.

“It will be handled by the office in each region and also by the library’s administrator,” Hendy said on Tuesday, as quoted by beritajakarta.com.

Meanwhile, Assistant Communication Director of BI Hendra Nazaldi said the books were aimed at high school and university students and asserted that the books would be updated regularly.

“I hope the presence of a BI corner will help our people to learn more about Bank Indonesia and financial matters,” Hendra said. (wnd)
