K

ompas TV news anchor Aiman Witjaksono is scheduled to be question by the Jakarta Police as witness in a libel case filed by senior Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) investigator Brig. Gen. Aris Budiman.

Aiman said that he had received a summons from the police and was expected to show up for the questioning on Friday. "I still don't know whom I am going to testify for or against," he said as quoted by tempo.com.

Aiman, however, expected that police investigators would zero in on some of the statements made by Indonesian Corruption Watch (ICW) activist Donal Fariz during his talk show 'Aiman.'

On Sept. 5, Aris filed three defamation reports including one concerning comments made by Donal during an exclusive interview with Aiman, aired on Kompas TV.

In the interview, Donal alleged that there was a 'turncoat' within the KPK, which aimed to weaken the antigraft body from within, a statement that likely referred to Aris.

Aris also filed a defamation report against Tempo weekly and news website inilah.com.

Aiman also said that Aris should file complaints to the Press Council if he had problems with news reporting.
