View all search resultsisitors to Bidadari Island in the Thousand Islands regency can expect to visit unique attractions that will be perfect for selfies when the island's revitalization project finishes on April 21, the Jakarta deputy governor said on Monday.
Jakarta Deputy Governor Sandiaga Uno said the project, which started in September last year, aimed to attract tourists through an eco-tourism concept.
Sandiaga explained that as part of the revitalization project, which was dubbed “The Soul of Batavia,” 43 cottages, two dormitories, restaurants and several resorts would be built on the island.
“All of the cottages will be decorated with Betawi-style ornaments,” Sandiaga told the press during a visit to the island on Monday.
He also said there would be photography spots at tourist sites, such as Pohon Jodoh (Soulmate Tree) and historical statues spread across the island.
“We have to make every spot as unique as possible so that people come here to take selfies,” he said. (dpk)
