entral Jakarta Police narcotics officers have shot dead a man, identified only as T, who was allegedly involved in distributing crystal methamphetamine.
Central Jakarta Police deputy chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Arie Ardian said that T had long been on the police’s most wanted list.
“We’ve seized 104 grams of crystal meth that T kept in the dashboard of his car,” Arie said as quoted by kompas.com on Monday.
Earlier, the police had detained and questioned two other suspects, EF and BD, who claimed to be T’s reseller.
During the raid on Thursday, T told the police that he obtained the drug from a man called "ACE". The police opened fire when T resisted their order to direct them to ACE's residence.
“He got a bullet in his chest. We rushed him to Kramat Jati Police Hospital, but it was too late,” said Arie. (vla)
