T

he wife of First Insp. Yudi Rospuji Siswato, who died during a standoff between security forces and terror inmates earlier this week, gave birth to a baby boy on Thursday morning.

Yudi was one of five members of the Densus 88 counterterrorism squad who were killed by inmates at a detention center located in the National Police’s Mobile Brigade headquarters (Mako Brimob) in Depok, West Java. One terrorist inmate also died in the incident.

“This is good news and sad news. The son of one of our best colleagues, First Insp. Yudi Rospuji, was born today. We hope the boy will grow up to be a pious child for his parents and meritorious for his nation,” National Police Spokesman Gen. M. Iqbal said on Thursday.

Yudi’s wife, Lutfi Hidayah, delivered the baby at 3.15 a.m. on Thursday. This is her fourth child.

Meanwhile, Yudi was laid to rest in his hometown in Brebes, East Java, on Thursday. (ami)
