he Poso Police have initiated a program called “Polisi Madago Raya”, which translates to “kind-hearted police”, which aims to create a safe and calm conditions in the area.
Under the program, the Poso Police helped to accommodate the wish of a former terrorism convict, Mulyadi, to open a business to support the needs of his family.
The Poso Police, together with several former terrorism convicts that are relatively secure financially, helped Mulyadi open a drinking water refilling depot named Khoirunnisa as his business activity at his home in Masamba village, Poso Pesisir district.
The police said all facilities they provided were part of their deradicalization program in Poso.
Poso Police Adj. Sr. Comr. Bogiek Sugiyarto officially opened Mulyadi’s drinking water depot on Thursday by cutting a ribbon at an event to mark the opening of his business.
Mulyadi is a former terrorism convict who was involved as a courier supplying firearms from the terrorist group East Indonesia Mujahidin (MIT). He was arrested at the house of his parents-in-law in Masamba at the beginning of February 2015. (ebf)
