he Jakarta administration has granted Rp120 billion (US$ 8.6 million) to the Agrarian and Spatial Ministry to issue land certificates for 282,655 plots of land in the capital.
Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan and Minister Sofyan Djalil signed on Monday a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on the matter.
The MOU, among others, stipulates cooperation in land registration and the integration of a map and database on land use and ownership in Jakarta.
“The signing of the MOU is important as it can hopefully provide guidance to accelerate land certification in Jakarta,” Anies said on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.
He added that he hoped the cooperation could solve land ownership problems in Jakarta.
Therefore, land prices will increase because land will be used optimally, Anies said. (cal)
