boy died after being hit by a car, driven by his neighbor, identified only as F, 38, in Mampang, Depok, West Java, the police have said.

Depok Police spokesperson Comr. Roni Agus Wowor said F was reversing his car out of his garage, when it struck his neighbor’s house as well as the 9-year-old boy. The child was taken to hospital, however, in the afternoon was declared deceased.

Roni told kompas.com on Monday that the incident was not officially reported to the police and the victim’s parents “have peacefully accepted it as an accident and did not demand compensation.” (acr)
