The India Indonesia Chamber of Commerce (IndCham) recently celebrated Diwali with a dinner and an interactive quiz at The Manhattan Hotel in South Jakarta, in a festive event full of fun and joy.
Diwali, the famous Hindu festival of lights, is normally celebrated in the month of either October or November.
Members of IndCham along with their spouses actively participated in the quiz, which was mainly about the celebration of Diwali worldwide. There was also a door prize of free air tickets to India from Jet Airways, a private Indian airline.
The Diwali function was attended by IndCham chairman and former forestry minister Marzuki Usman, IndCham president Amol Titus, the Indian Embassy’s first secretary for economic and commerce affairs, Venkateswaran Narayanan, and second secretary for education, science and technology Ajit Singh.
IndCham is an association of both Indian and Indonesian companies and people having interests in promoting the economic and business interests of Indonesia and India. It was first established in 1977 under the name of the Economic Association of Indonesia & India (ECAII) and in 2011 changed its name into IndCham.
“We have more than 70 members in IndCham,” Amol told The Jakarta Post on the sidelines of the Diwali dinner.
