North Jakarta deputy mayor Ali Maulana Hakim has said that the administration is likely to integrate the reservoir and the BMW stadium, as they were located nearby.
he North Jakarta administration plans to revamp Cincin Lake (also called Cincin reservoir) and the surrounding urban forest during the construction of the BMW stadium.
North Jakarta deputy mayor Ali Maulana Hakim said that the municipality would likely integrate the two areas, as they were located close to each other.
"As we can see on the map, they're connected. Hence, we want the renovationof the reservoir and the stadium development to go hand in hand," Ali said on Monday as quoted by kompas.com.
Ali said that the BMW stadium was expected to improve public access to Cincin reservoir. According to him, the urban forest area is rarely visited by people because the only way to get there is through a middle income housing complex with security guards.
"That's why I want the [stadium's] park to connect to the reservoir," he said, adding that he believed the plan would gain local support.
The North Jakarta administration intends to revamp Cincin Reservoir and the surrounding urban forest through a community action plan (CAP).
The project, which is targeted for completion this year, is designed to transform the area into an agritourism destination. (vla)
