ity-owned market operator PD Pasar Jaya is providing a free WiFi service at Mayestik traditional market in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, to improve the service for visitors as well as connectivity for merchants.
The service aims at keeping up with trends while at the same time retaining Mayestik’s identity as a traditional market, Pasar Jaya president director Arief Nasrudin said.
Merchants in the market, he said, are expected to benefit from the WiFi service to develop their businesses.
“Merchants using smartphones can take advantage of the WiFi service. This is incredible,” he said during the launch of the facility on Friday as reported by kompas.com.
The service is provided by advertising company PT Pulau Pula Media, which runs MacroAd.
“We have our own intranet that we can provide for WiFi with a pretty good speed,” the company’s business development and partnership manger Kinkstie Fans said.
The public can enjoy the service of up to 50 mbps. To get connected, users must first download the MicroAd Linikini app to connect their smartphones to the free WiFi service.
The company is providing the internet service based on cooperation with PD Pasar Jaya related to digital ad installation. After Mayestik, another 11 traditional markets will have free WiFi installed as part of the cooperation. (vla)
