View all search resultshe Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) arrested eight individuals, including a regent, local public officials and businesspeople during a string of operations between Wednesday night to early Thursday in three different areas of Lampung province.
The operations, carried out in Bandar Lampung city, Central Lampung and Mesuji regencies, were reportedly related to a bribery case surrounding infrastructure projects in Mesuji.
“We found preliminary evidence of bribery linked to infrastructure projects handled by the Mesuji Public Works and Housing Agency in 2018,” KPK spokesman Febri Diansyah said on Thursday.
Investigators have seized a cardboard box full of Rp 100,000 (US$7.06) bills.
Following the arrests, the KPK has 24 hours to decide whether to name them suspects. (vny/ipa)
